Auckland Castle, in Durham, north-east England, hosts Kynren each summer: an open-air night spectacular, bringing to life 2,000 years of Britain's history through the eyes of England's north-east, from the Roman period to post-World War II. The stories roll out across 14 movie-like performances and takes the 8,000-strong audience on a 90-minute journey of epic storytelling, with pyrotechnics, lighting, and water effects.
