From a hidden hideaway in Cornwall’s remote landscape, to waking up in the shadow of one of London’s most iconic buildings, Britain is home to an abundance of new and exciting accommodation which can provide a home away from home for guests.

 

Just opened…

The Cornish Treehouse, Cornwall

Opened early 2022

Look no further than a retreat to The Cornish Treehouse for a mindful escape into nature. Located near to the Cornish seaside town of Looe, within five acres of sprawling woodland, the adults-only hideaway boasts a lavish copper bathtub, bespoke local timber and hand carved beech basins, as well as a projector screen for a cosy night in during the winter months. Guests will feel at one with nature as the treehouse entwines with a 200-year-old copper beech tree, and is built entirely from oak and ash. Visitors have access to wi-fi and a number of other essentials, as well as a welcome hamper packed with local goodies.

 

Chateau Denmark

Opened April 2022

Step into an eclectic hotel inspired by rock ‘n’ roll. Chateau Denmark, situated on Soho’s Denmark Street, pays homage to its iconic location, boasting 55 session rooms and apartments all with their own style. Music fans can choose to spend the night in the same room where the Rolling Stones recorded their first album. Designed by interior designers Taylor Howes, bespoke bed linen complements the grandeur and uniqueness of each room. Expect gold trimmed beds, artistic headboards and roll top baths, alongside paintings and sculptures from various artists and creators. Guests can dine in style at Tattu – situated at the top of Chateau Denmark’s The Now Building, it offers a fusion of traditional Chinese cuisine and modern cooking methods. A lounge bar, fitness and wellness space, basement club, shops, a recording studio and private hire venues are all set to open at the hotel later this year too.

 

Leonardo Hotel Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester

Opened May 2022

Leonardo Hotel has arrived in Manchester Piccadilly, offering 275 contemporary rooms equipped with the Leonardo DREAM bed for that all-important injection of comfort. Its unique award-winning design is sure to catch the eye of passers-by, inspired by Milan’s vertical forest and Jenga blocks. With accessible rooms, an on-site bar and restaurant, Leo’s, and a wellness suite for all guests – every part of a stay has been thought about. Found a short distance from Manchester Piccadilly train station, the hotel is also ideally situated for discovering the bustling foodie and shopping scene in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

The Retreat

Opening Spring 2022

Surrounded by 16 acres of West Berkshire countryside, The Retreat at Elcot Park is an Grade II listed 18th-century country house and spa with 55 uniquely designed rooms. It features a choice of dog-friendly rooms, grand suites and family rooms, as well as facilities including an outdoor infinity pool, croquet lawns and tennis courts. Find tranquillity at the Signet Spa, which offers a variety of treatments from face therapy to couple experiences. Or indulge at Yu, a Pan-Asian fine dining restaurant, or at 1772, an all-day brasserie offering all day dining options.

 

Virgin Hotels Edinburgh, Scotland

Opening June 2022

Landing in Edinburgh this June, Virgin Hotels Edinburgh marks the brand’s first venture outside of the USA. Look beyond its beautifully historic setting in the city’s Old Town to discover a contemporary interior design. Keeping its staple Victorian architecture but adding a modern twist, the hotel features 225 suites, all equipped with sliding doors to create a distinctive living and sleeping spaces. Guests can bring a four-legged friend as the hotel boasts dog-friendly rooms, or dine at Commons Club, the on-site restaurant and bar offering iconic castle views, a plush interior and carefully-crafted cocktails. For unique perspectives of Edinburgh, head to the hotel’s heights to find a hidden rooftop sanctuary with sweeping citywide views. A further hotel in Glasgow is also set to open in the summer.

 

Lost Property Hotel, St Paul’s, London

Opening Spring/Summer 2022

Discover a sanctuary in the heart of the City of London. With 145 rooms, Lost Property Hotel spans six floors. Situated just 100 metres from London’s iconic St Paul’s Cathedral, the hotel brings together the uniqueness of the historic neighbourhood alongside modern design. Expect a marble bathroom and eclectic artwork in each room, adding a pop of creativity and colour. In Found, the on-site restaurant and bar, tuck into meals sourced from local food markets and try cocktails concocted by in-house mixologists. Or for all-day snacks and coffee, try Tattle – a coffeehouse serving locally sourced British produce.

 

The Other House, South Kensington, London

Opening Spring/Summer 2022

Where slow travel is the focus, The Other House opens its doors to those looking for flexibility, style and a place to chill out in during a stay in Britain’s capital. Guests will be able to pick from 200 fully-fitted Club Flats with eight distinctive designs offering two, three and four-bed options. With the stay controlled by one simple app, guests can book, check in, enter their room and even order room cleaning, beauty treatments and book a table at the bar or restaurant digitally. A private club dedicated to members and residents allows guests access to two bars, a spa and a fitness studio, alongside all-day dining options at the bistro. The Other House will open additional apartments in Covent Garden in 2023.

 

The Tawny Hotel, Staffordshire

Opening ten new rooms in 2022

Following a successful opening in July 2021, 2022 will see ten new rooms coming to The Tawny Hotel, located in the picturesque rolling countryside of Staffordshire. With cedar-cladding, super-king-size beds and rooflights providing starry night views, The Retreats will sleep up to eight guests. The extension will also see new treehouses added to the site, with all accommodation continuing feature an outdoor spa bath on private decking. Discover the deconstructed hotel and escape into nature with lakeside gardens, ponds and an outdoor heated pool. Guests can tuck into delicious locally sourced ingredients at the on-site restaurant, The Plumicorn, with an ever-changing seasonal menu. Or for those seeking an alfresco dining experience, guests can order a picnic to enjoy in a scenic spot of their choosing.
