Riverside Museum: Scotland’s Museum of Transport and Travel is the home for Glasgow’s world-class transport and technology Collection. Designed by superstar architect Zaha Hadid, the building is a masterpiece of design and engineering perfectly complementing to the amazing displays within. Oh, and entry is free!

Outside, the tallship Glenlee is moored in front of the museum’s stunning south façade, bringing her together with the city’s unrivalled ship model collection, and creating a dramatic and iconic international destination. Glenlee is one of only 5 Clyde-built sailing vessels afloat in the world today and the only one in the UK.

Inside Riverside Musem, Glasgow

Inside, Riverside Museum shows off the breadth of Glasgow’s world-class collection through its multidisciplinary story displays, a radical approach to museum interpretation that prioritises the visitor and puts people at the heart of the exhibits. This method was pioneered at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.

Riverside challenges traditional expectations of a museum. Using around 3,000 objects from across the city’s collection, archive film and photographs, and a vast amount of personal experiences and memories, the museum reveals the rich and varied stories of Glasgow’s great achievements and vibrant spirit; of technological breakthroughs and heartbreaking tragedies; of local heroes and global giants.
