Immersing yourself in Jane Austen’s Bath
Author Jane Austen spent a lot of time in Bath, and the Georgian city (now a UNESCO World Heritage Site) features heavily in her books. Follow the Jane Austen audio tour, visit The Jane Austen Centre to find out more about Austen’s life in Bath and take afternoon tea in the Regency Rooms, just as Jane did. But for a truly Austenian experience, visit Bath during the Jane Austen Festival (September), set to be extra-special in 2017 to mark the 200th anniversary of the writer’s death. Expect workshops on dancing and silhouette cutting, talks, screenings and tours, as well as the annual Grand Regency Costumed Promenade.
