Teeing off in the spiritual home of golf
People have been playing golf at St Andrews Links for 600 years, so when you play a round at the Old Course, you’re following in the footsteps of golf’s original pioneers and modern-day champions, including Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy. Book well in advance or enter the Old Course Ballot, which is drawn 48 hours in advance. For a quirky taste of Scotland’s golfing heritage, play hickory golf at nearby Kingarrock, where golf is played as it was in the 1920s: with original hickory clubs from the 1900s and softer rubber-wound balls on a nine-hole course. Plus-fours are optional!
