Want to experience contemporary British art in a historic setting? Head to ‘Tate of the North’, Tate Liverpool, housed in a disused warehouse at the city’s Albert Dock. Here you can see Marcel Duchamp’s famous piece, ‘Fountain’, along with works by David Hockney and many renowned artists.

2. FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology)

FACT is a leading media arts centre, based in the centre of Liverpool, which offers a programme of exhibitions, film and participant-led art projects. The award-winning FACT building is home to three galleries (showing four exhibitions per year), a cool café and bar, and three state-of-the-art film screens (including intimate sofa-seated The Box), programmed by Picturehouse at FACT and showing the best in independent and mainstream film.
