London's serviced apartments: a home away from home

When away from home, I like that comfy feeling of having my own space and the flexibility to come & go as you please. So when SACO apartments suggested hosting me on my trip to London recently, I wasn`t saying no.

When visiting a city I pay most attention to the location. It depends on the city of course and which part you want to explore, but being right in the middle of the buzz of a city, gives it that little bit of extra! I never stayed at a serviced apartment before and it was interesting to see the differences against staying at a hotel. The apartment where I stayed, was located at St George`s Wharf, outside the city centre, close to Vauxhall bridge. However there was a Tube stop right in front of the building that takes you in no time to the centre. Riding the Tube by myself was a first as well, but that`s a whole other story! There was a shop just outside the building, a nice view over the waterfront and several eating facilities. Let me take you on a mini tour through the apartment. When entering, you walk into a little hall way with on one side a full bathroom and the other side one of the bedrooms with an ensuite bathroom.

Next up is another bedroom big enough for two. While walking further down the hallway you end up in the living room with a full kitchen on the right side.

Especially if you`re staying for a longer period or are with more persons, the extra space is very welcome. It gives you the opportunity to work in a separate area. Also if you`re there with a family, the children have their own room, giving you a chance to have some quality time with your partner. It has the convenience of a hotel, but with that home-from-home feeling to it because of the facilities like a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine and dryer, TV, DVD,... everything you would find at home. The freedom of eating in or out and come and go as you please, is another plus. However I probably would prefer one closer to the city to fully experience the city buzz! SACO, serviced apartment company, has a network of over 12 000 apartments in over 100 key destinations worldwide. If you would like to read a full review, check out London`s expert and also Super Blogger @AboutLondon`s article. I was provided with complimentary services for review purposes, however the opinions in this review are my own.
