I get to the UK to travel solo at least every other year and each time I do I visit new places. My first stop on my most recent trip was Liverpool. There, I stayed at the Hotel Indigo, a brand new hotel that was designed on the theme of cotton which played a significant role in the city's history. The light fixtures in the fun, casual restaurant are the shape of cotton balls. The mural on the wall of my room was an abstract of cotton threads. And, at the bar, I had their signature drink, the Cotton Candy Martini. The first signature drink I shared after a trip to Mexico was just a bit of fun. The second dug me a bit deeper into the signature drink area. Now a third - I think we have a trend here. You can count on me finding and sharing the recipes to unusual cocktails from around the world in the future.

Cotton Candy Martini Recipe
Tom, the mixologist at the Hotel Indigo helped create the drink. Here's the recipe. Start with a Boston Shaker Glass. Add
- 50 ml, 1.5 oz of vodka
- 25 ml, .75 oz of Black Raspberry Liquor
- Splash of Grenadine
- Couple of squeezes of fresh lime juice.
Get a martini glass and put the cotton candy in it. (He made the cotton candy fresh.) Fill your Boston Glass with Ice and give it a good shake. Strain the mixture over the cotton candy which will melt the sugar. Top it off with Prosecco - see how he does it in the video. And, in the words of Tom: "there you have, a Cotton Candy Martini." - something to send you into the weekend with. Cheers everyone!
