Terms and Conditions for Love Is GREAT Britain Canada Competition

  1. The Promoter of this Competition is the British Tourist Authority, a statutory body incorporated under the Development of Tourism Act 1969 with its office address at VisitBritain, Upper Ground Floor, 1 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0ET (“Promoter”).

 

  1. The Competition is open to residents of Canada* who are aged 18 years or over except employees of Promoter or any partner/agency connected with this Competition, or family of staff working for any of these organizations. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants and any entrants and/or Winner(s) will be automatically disqualified if found not to fully comply with the eligibility criteria for entering this Competition.

 

*This Competition is not open to residents of Quebec.

 

  1. The Competition is open for entry from 12:00am EST on June 30, 2017 and the closing date for entries is midnight EST on September 30, 2017. Any entries received after the closing date will not be accepted. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility for online entries which are not received or delays in receiving or delivering online entries.

 

  1. There is one (1) Prize to be won, which must be taken by March 31st, 2018. The Winner is entitled to invite one guest, aged 18 or over.

 

  1. The Prize package will consist of:

 

  • Round-trip economy flights for two (2) from Canada to London, subject to availability and flight connectivity, courtesy of Air Canada. The Winner and guest are responsible for making their own travel to and from the airport of departure. Once tickets are issued, they are non-changeable and non-transferrable
  • Six (6) nights in centrally located 3* London hotel, courtesy of Air Canada Vacations, including continental breakfast every morning
  • London City Sightseeing Hop On/Off Tour – ticket valid for 24 hours
  • 30min tour on The London Eye
  • Two (2) Oyster Cards for London transit (worth £40)
  • Two (2) return tickets for the Heathrow Express

 

Any additional costs not expressly stated, but which may be incurred in acceptance and use of the Prize package is the responsibility of the Winner and their guest. Such additional costs may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Meals and beverages not included in the Prize
  • Room service, telephone calls, laundry and other incidentals
  • Cost of arranging travel insurance
  • Passport and/or visa (if required)
  • Travel to and from Canadian airport of departure
  • Spending money.

 

The total value of the Prize is CAD$4000.

 

  1. The Winner and their guest are responsible for ensuring they have a valid passport, travel insurance and the necessary visa(s) (if necessary) for the period of travel.

 

  1. To enter the Competition, entrants must correctly answer the following question: ‘2017 marks what anniversary of the decriminalization of homosexuality in England & Wales?’ and complete all personal details and accept the Competition terms and conditions.

 

  1. The winner (“Winner”) will be the first correct answer drawn by a panel of judges from all correct entries received. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the Winner. The judging will take place within fourteen (14) days of the competition closing date (midnight EST September 30th, 2017) at the Promoter’s premises. The judges may select reserve correct entries in case of an invalid entry or ineligible entrant.

 

  1. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome of the Prize awarded.

 

  1. The Winner will be notified by the Promoter via email using the email address provided by the Winner within fourteen (14) days of the competition closing date (midnight EST September 30, 2017). The Winner must reply to the notification email and confirm that they accept the Prize within fourteen (14) days and provide proof of ID and their full postal address. The judges cannot accept responsibility for late responses. In the event that the Winner fails to respond to the winner notification email and/or provide all requested prize fulfilment information within the required timeframe, the Winner shall forfeit his or her entitlement to the Prize and the Promoter shall have the right to pick an alternative Winner of the Prize.

 

  1. Entry to the Competition is limited to one (1) entry per person.

 

  1. The Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, non-changeable and no cash alternative is available in whole or in part. The Prize is subject to availability and the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the whole or any part of the Prize for one of equal or greater value. All costs, incidentals and expenses which are not expressly included as part of the Prize shall be the Winner’s sole responsibility. Any costs, incidentals and expenses incurred by the Winner and, where applicable any accompanying guest, not specifically listed as included as part of the Prize shall be at the sole cost and expense of the Winner and, where applicable any accompanying guest.

 

  1. The Promoter reserves the right to terminate, amend or extend this Competition in the event of exceptional circumstances outside its control which affect its ability to operate the Competition. Where the Prize includes tickets for events and/or experiences organized and hosted by third parties, the Winner and their guest shall have to comply with any terms and conditions of such event organizers.

 

  1. The Winner and their accompanying guest may be required to take part in publicity associated with this Competition and agree to cooperate with any reasonable requests of the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to publish details of the Winner on its publically available website or digital platforms.

 

  1. If entrants complete the relevant boxes on the entry form, their details will be retained by the Promoter. The Promoter will store and process entrants’ details in accordance with its own privacy policies: www.visitbritain.com/ca/en/privacy-policy

 

  1. By entering the Competition, entrants agree to being contacted by the Promoter for survey purposes.

 

  1. The rules of this Competition shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and the English Courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising therefrom.
