As 2020 nears, discover a wealth of budget-friendly and luxury options, including some in the most picturesque corners of the country.

 

Recently opened

Native, Manchester

Situated just minutes from Manchester Piccadilly train station, the Native aparthotel in the Grade II-listed Ducie Street warehouse offers an extensive range of luxury accommodation. Visitors can pick one of 166 serviced apartments, ranging in size from a studio up to an extravagant penthouse apartment, all with generous kitchen and living spaces. The former railway goods warehouse includes CULTUREPLEX on the ground floor, a social and cultural space with a restaurant, bar, cinema and fitness studios.

The Hoxton, London

The Hoxton brand opened the doors to its third London hotel in September, with 192 rooms spread across 14 storeys just a short walk from the South Bank. Set on the south side of Blackfriars Bridge, the rooms feature bare brick walls and Crittall-style windows and come in one of the brand’s five signature categories: Shoebox, Snug, Cosy, Roomy and Biggy. The Albie dining space offers a menu inspired by the French and Italian Riviera, while the hotel chain’s first rooftop bar and restaurant, Seabird, offers stunning views over the River Thames and delicious cuisine, including a raw bar and an impressive oyster menu.

Travelodge Glasgow Govan, Glasgow

There are now seven Travelodges in Glasgow. Situated less than four miles outside of central Glasgow, the chain’s new hotel in Glasgow Govan offers the ideal location from which to explore Scotland’s largest city and its surrounds. Located just 10 minutes from the Old Firm derby at Ibrox and the beautiful Elder Park, the hotel is close to Cardonald Railway Station, which has regular train services to Glasgow taking just 8 minutes. The accommodation also offers an on-site Bar Café serving unlimited breakfast and tasty evening meals, in addition to the hotel’s Travelodge Dreamer™ beds as standard.

The Hudnalls Hideout, Gloucestershire

Opening December 2019

Enjoy a luxurious stay in Britain’s first A-frame treehouse from late November, with the launch of The Hudnalls Hideout in the heart of Gloucestershire’s Wye Valley. Perched in two acres of private woodland, the secluded adults-only treehouse sits nearly four metres above the floor and includes ample living space. The photogenic interior – designed in partnership with MADE.COM – features a delightful hand-carved staircase, mezzanine bedroom and fully-equipped modern kitchen, while the entire structure is encircled by a raised deck, housing a copper bath and overlooking a fire pit. With easy access to Offa’s Dyke Path and the Forest of Dean, the peaceful hideaway is ideally situated for discovering the abundance of wildlife and spectacular nature on offer in the region, in addition to the area’s many restaurants, including Michelin-starred The Whitebrook. Stays are priced at £215 per night (midweek) and £250 per night (weekends) based on two sharing – minimum stays apply.

Travelodge Edinburgh Park, Edinburgh

Opening 9 December 2019

Opening on 9 December, Travelodge Edinburgh Park is the 11th Travelodge to grace the Scottish capital. Situated close to attractions such as Edinburgh Zoo and Murrayfield Stadium, the hotel offers excellent transport links to the city’s major sites and attractions and is only a short distance to the M8, giving visitors quick access to Glasgow. As a Travelodge Plus Hotel, the accommodation features new look standard rooms and the budget brand’s SuperRooms, in addition to free onsite parking, a new style restaurant and king size Travelodge Dreamer™ beds.

Found close to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery at the south end of St Martin’s Lane, Page8 marks the first entry into the British market for Page. The design-led hotel will feature 138 rooms and a part-lobby, part-‘Page Common’ coffeehouse entrance. Designed to drive urban exploration, experiencing London forms a key part of the hotel’s ethos.

The Harper, North Norfolk

Offering a laid-back country escape in the picturesque village of Langham, The Harper in North Norfolk is a luxurious boutique hotel development on the former site of Langham Glass. Inside the historic Norfolk brick-and-stone building, visitors will discover 32 high-tech bedrooms featuring modern four-poster beds, contemporary bathrooms and delightful oak flooring, as well as two restaurants and a lavish spa with a swimming pool, steam room, sauna and workout space.

Hotel Brooklyn MCR, Manchester

Opening spring 2020

Set to launch in early 2020, Hotel Brooklyn MCR from Bespoke Hotels will house 191 chic bedrooms, alongside a restaurant and events space. A homage to life in the New York borough of Brooklyn in the late 19th century, the hotel on Portland Street will include a panoramic rooftop bar, known as Brooklyn Heights, offering spectacular views across the city.

The Bike & Boot, North Yorkshire

Opening early 2020

Offering 60 unique and cosy bedroom spaces, the Bike & Boot is set to be the only boutique hotel of its kind when it opens its doors in Scarborough. Four-legged friends are welcome, and the hotel includes a grooming area for especially mucky dogs, as well an abundance of secure storage for bicycles, surf boards and other equipment. Located on the seafront, close to the Rotunda Museum, and on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, guests will be able to relax in the restaurant, bar and secluded lounge after a day exploring the region’s rich heritage.

Hampton by Hilton Leeds City Centre, Leeds

Opening 2 March, 2020

Set to open in the heart of Leeds, Hampton by Hilton Leeds City Centre marks Hilton’s newest venture in the city. The development on Gower Street, close to the Arena Quarter and Victoria Gate shopping centre, has 121 fresh, modern guest rooms with free Wi-Fi, a gym and complimentary hot breakfast, meeting the needs of both business and leisure travellers. Bookings are being taken for 2 March and beyond.
