Britain’s accommodation offering is constantly expanding. From lavish new developments to revitalised properties, a castle escape offering guests the chance to live like royalty and a boutique hotel in the heart of York are just some of the new properties waiting to be discovered.

 

Just opened…

Fairmont Windsor Park, Windsor, England

Opened in January 2022

Escape from the hustle and bustle of London at Fairmont Windsor Park. Located an hour outside of the capital, the wheelchair-accessible hotel offers guests a luxurious stay in one of 200 rooms and suites. Each luxurious room pays homage to the Berkshire town’s rich heritage, while the 40-acre site features a peaceful lake and a state-of-the-art spa. Relax and rejuvenate in the UK’s first multi-person cryotherapy chamber, a courtyard hydrotherapy pool, a Japanese Ashiyu foot ritual bath and a Himalayan salt room. For the foodies, there’s a choice of seven restaurants and bars, offering fine dining, an all-day menu and afternoon tea.

 

No.1 York, England

Opened in January 2022

No.1 from Guesthouse Hotels is York’s new 39 room boutique hotel, located in the heart of the historic city, and a mere 10-minute walk from York Minster. Set inside a Grade II Listed Regency townhouse, features include a gliding central staircase, beautifully draped windows and towering ceilings. Its restaurant and bar offer delectable dishes and drinks throughout the day. Guests can relax at No.1’s spa, tucked away in the atmospheric cellar – it provides treatments across five separate rooms, with eco-luxury skincare products.

 

Moxy Hotel, Bristol, England

Opened in February 2022

Moxy Hotel has opened its doors in Bristol for culture-seekers, weekend breakers and all the family, including dogs. Each of the 214 rooms have en-suite bathrooms and a 42-inch Chromecast TV, with round-the-clock food and drink service available for guests. In true iconic Moxy Hotel style, guests check in at the bar and are served a complimentary cocktail upon arrival. With its convenient location in St Paul’s neighbourhood, visitors can easily explore Bristol’s vibrant Shopping Quarter and venture further afield thanks to an array of accessible travel routes.

The Royal Chamber at Hedingham Castle, Essex, England

Due to open in early 2022

Fit for a King or a Queen, The Royal Chamber at Hedingham Castle will offer a grand four poster bed so guests can experience the royal treatment in the heights of the castle. While guests had previously been able to stay in properties located around the castle’s medieval park, this is the first-time guests can spend the night inside the 900-year-old building. Guests can soak in the room’s majesty with a spacious double bath before venturing out to explore the surrounding Essex countryside.

 

Luxury barn conversion at Michelmersh Manor Farm, Hampshire, England

Due to open in early 2022

Guests will soon be able to experience a taste of the farm life in a rejuvenated 400-year old listed barn, transformed into two bespoke self-catering units at Michelmersh Manor Farm. The barn conversions will add to the farm’s existing accommodation of self-catering cottages and shepherd huts. The first renovation will include two en-suite bedrooms, with the second having a roomy king-sized bed alongside a sofa bed. The farm, located in the Test Valley, is home to 300 cows, as well as sheep, chickens, peacocks, guinea fowl and horses. In addition to exploring the surrounding countryside, guests can fill their day with farm-based activities, and discover the history of the old Masonic grange and chapel located between the farm’s inner and outer walls.

 

Inhabit Queen’s Gardens, Bayswater, London, England

Due to open in March 2022

With scandi-style interior and nourishing food, guests will be able to relax and unwind during their stay at Inhabit Queen’s Gardens. Wellness is the focal point of the 159-room boutique hotel – the new sister hotel of Inhabit Paddington – with daily yoga classes, meditation sessions, activities, and events to encourage guest’s spirituality and physicality. The on-site gym will include a Peloton bike, while the 70-cover innovative and health conscious restaurant and bar seeks to appeal to travellers seeking an environmentally and socially conscious stay. Produce is sourced locally from small suppliers.

 

Hotel La Tour, Milton Keynes, England

Due to open in April 2022

Boasting 261 luxury bedrooms, as well as a bar and restaurant offering 360-degree views on the top floor, Hotel La Tour is set to open in Milton Keynes this April. Set to be a hotspot for corporate and leisure hospitality, the development will also include conference tooms, a large banqueting suite and an outdoor private terrace.

 

The Albion, Cardigan, Ceredigion, Wales

Opening postponed from 2021 to this spring

This spring, flowers won’t be the only things popping up in Cardigan, Wales. The Albion will feature 23 en-suite rooms, with sweeping views of the River Teifi. The hotel will sit as part of fforest – an environmentally conscious retreat in an outstanding natural setting. Built within two warehouses steeped in maritime history, the hotel will offer modernity and comfort while maintaining original features, including unique historic graffiti etched into the lime washed walls.

 

Jack’s Alt-Stays, Millport, Isle of Cumbrae, Scotland

Due to open this spring

Escape to one of Scotland’s remote islands at Jack’s Alt-Stays alternative eco-cabins. Each cabin is unique, with its own theme and story told through a one-of-a-kind wall mural. From the materials used to build the cabins, to the energy used on site – all decisions are made with the environment in mind, plus for every booking made, Jack Alt-Stays plants 10 trees. Some cabins come kitted out with a wood-fired hot tub and all are dog-friendly.

 

Soho House, Brighton and Manchester, England

Due to open in 2022

Soho House is set to launch two new ventures in Manchester and Brighton this year – expect seascape views, a rooftop bar and tasty dining experiences.

Little Beach House Brighton will offer luxury on the south coast when it opens in the spring. Along with sweeping seafront views and the iconic pier in walking distance, the hotel will include an open-air plunge pool, a fish restaurant and outdoor bar. The hotel is part of the development work of the Grade II listed Madeira Terraces. Brighton Soho House is bookable for members and non-members.

Soho House’s first northern hotel, in Manchester, will be exclusive to members. Spanning the three upper floors of what once was the Granada Studios building, it will include a rooftop bar and pool, plus dining and lounge areas. Centrally located in St Johns, the building will also play host to The Factory, a vast cultural space which is set to open in 2023.
