There are a host of new and upcoming hotels in Britain, ready to be included in dream getaways and bucket lists. From a hotel steeped in the history of Britain’s musical legends to a countryside inn from the minds behind Soho House, there are plenty of luxurious and inspiring places to look forward to.

 

Newly open

The Bradley Hare, Wiltshire

Opened June 2021

Luxury design, country chic and local beers – everything visitors want from an English countryside escape can be found within the newly opened Bradley Hare, a traditional stone-clad English inn in Wiltshire. With influence from the former Soho House European design director James Thurstan Waterworth, the twelve immaculately decorated rooms, spanning the inn and Coach House, mix modern luxury with 19th century charm. Future guests can expect elegant inclusions such as Egyptian cotton sheets, locally sourced furniture and cherry-picked antiques. Located in the Duke of Somerset’s estate, within the tranquil village of Maiden Bradley, the surrounding countryside is equally as appealing, and is only 20 miles from the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath.

 

The Fellows House, Cambridge

Opened July 2021

A new apartment-style hotel has opened its doors in the heart of Cambridge. Located just five minutes from the historic city centre, the Fellows House is within moments of famous landmarks such as Jesus Green and the River Cam. Inspired by the university fellows, is the first in the Curio Collection by Hilton. Housing 131 rooms, stylish studios and one-bedroom apartments complete with kitchens, it gives visitors the chance to make Cambridge feel like a home away from home. Future guests can also enjoy the indoor pool, sauna and steam room, or even rent a bicycle and explore this cycle-friendly city on two wheels. 

 

Queens Hotel, Leeds

Opened in summer, but transformation will continue until September

Bringing sumptuous Art Deco design into the heart of Leeds, the four-star Queens Hotel has re-opened after a £16 million renovation. The interior of the Grade II-listed building features rich jewel tones and lavish furnishings, which are echoed throughout the 232 rooms and suites – including a terrace room and presidential suite. Guests can enjoy fine dining and indulgent high tea in the Grand Pacific restaurant, or opt for Café Pacific for coffee, cakes and afternoon tea.

Mondrian Shoreditch London, London

Opening August 2021 

The former Curtain Hotel in the capital’s creative East End will be given a complete makeover as it reopens as the Mondrian Shoreditch London. The modern lifestyle hotel features 120 rooms, including 13 suites, and brims with copper surfaces, warm fabrics and neutral tones. Visitors dreaming of an extra special hotel stay in London can enjoy the hotel’s private Screening Room, rooftop pool and lounge. World-famous chef Dani García will also add to the Mondrian experience with BIBO Shoreditch, a stylish Spanish tapas restaurant.

 

Callow Hall, Derbyshire

Opening 14 August, 2021

A new country house hotel is preparing to open its doors, giving future guests a luxurious base from which to discover the Peak District. Paving the way as the first of the Wildhive hotel collection, Callow Hall is a renovated Victorian country house sitting within 35-acres of gardens, meadow and woodland. There will be 15 bedrooms, each with their own bespoke design and featuring roll-top baths and country vistas, and 11 ‘Hives’. Set away from the main house, these woodland suites come with king beds, private decking and fully-stocked ‘chef’s cupboard’, for a luxury self-catering experience. Guests truly looking to reconnect with nature can also choose from two Treehouses. Due to open in January 2022, each comes with wrap-around decking, outdoor bath and open-plan living space. Additional facilities include the Library Snug bar and the Garden Room restaurant, which promises a seasonal menu full of the finest British produce.

 

Fairmount Windsor Park, Surrey 

Opening in September 2021

Mirroring the elegance and heritage of the location, the luxurious Fairmount Windsor Park is set to open in September 2021. Nestled on the edge of Windsor Great Park – a spot loved by countless royals – it is surrounded by 40 acres of greenery and a lake. Future guests can stay in one of the 200 opulent rooms, dine in the restaurants or let stresses melt away in the spa - which promises a vitality pool, Hammam, and Japanese Ashiyu foot ritual bath. Located less than an hour away from central London and within easy reach of Heathrow Airport, this lavish countryside hotel is sure to become a popular getaway.

 

Chateau Denmark, London

Opening autumn 2021

An icon in the making, Chateau Denmark will pay homage to legendary British musical artists when it opens in autumn 2021. Located on Denmark Street, the musical mecca where the Rolling Stones, David Bowie and the Sex Pistols worked, played and recorded, the hotel will feature 55 rooms and apartments just a stone’s throw from Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus.
