Jacuzzi, London

Opened January 2023

Coming in hot for 2023, Big Mamma Group have swung open the doors to their newest venture, Jacuzzi, an Italian eatery in South Kensington. Joining the ranks of their other trattorias, including Ave Mario and Gloria, Jacuzzi stands as a showstopper. Modelled on a renaissance Venetian villa, there’s Italian gems throughout – with draping Murano glass chandeliers and Roman Statues spanning across four floors in the 170-cover restaurant. Foodies can tuck into a monthly rotating seasonal menu, bringing lesser-known flavours from the Italian coast, mountains and beyond. Try secondi for dry-aged steaks and fresh fish dishes made to be shared.

Duck and Waffle, Edinburgh

Opened February 2023

Following its success in London, Duck and Waffle have brought their ‘gastro diner’ experience to the streets of Edinburgh – a first venture into Scotland. Located in St James Quarter, there’s a vibrant atmosphere that serves up food from early morning to late night. Inside, expect chef counters, feather drenched chandeliers and subtle elements of Scotland including tartans and locally sourced tiles. On the menu, there’s crispy leg confit on waffles, ox cheek doughnut and Scottish classics, including deep fried haggis.

Paying homage to his love for nature and the wild, chef Hunter showcases British game, alongside local and seasonal ingredients. Dive into the likes of veal rump, Orkney scallops or a Wigmore cheese fondue. Find the 60-cover restaurant open every Tuesday to Saturday.

Crocadon, Cornwall

Opened February 2023

From the ground up – that’s the ethos at Cornwall’s Crocadon. London-born chef Dan Cox has spent five years working on a vision to bring hyper-seasonal ingredients to the table. The restaurant, which seats 25, sits within a barn on a farm in St Mellion. It focuses on regenerative farming and serves up an ever-changing menu with produce grown from the surrounding land. The 120-acre organic farm also boasts an on-site microbrewery, two orchards and a pottery-house, with all the tableware handcrafted by self-taught potter Dan and up-and-coming British ceramicists.

Coming soon…

Emmanuelle, London

Opening spring 2023

Chef, owner and sommelier Yuma Hashemi is poised to open his second venture in London, Emmanuelle, this spring. The 24-cover wine bar will celebrate small-scale wine producers and natural and biodynamic bottles from across the world, with Emmanuelle’s philosophy aiming to get the conversation flowing around the popular drink. For something unique, guests can join a blind wine tasting that reinvigorates taste and smell senses, or dip into masterclasses and producer talks. Situated across the street from Yuma’s first establishment, Persian restaurant The Drunken Butler, there will be a refined menu offering Persian inspired flavours, French charcuterie and daily changing small plates.

Maya, Manchester

Opening spring 2023

Maya, located along Chorlton Street near Manchester’s buzzing LGBTQI+ hotspot, is getting set to welcome diners this year. Brought to the scene by the teams behind Petersham Nurseries and Soho House, the restaurant will be split across three floors of an early 20th century warehouse, with its interior offering a blend of art-deco and original industrial features. On the menu, Mancunian chef Gabe Lea will plate up creative variations of much-loved dishes, all with seasonal and local ingredients.

Opening its doors for the first time in Wales, the steak restaurant Gaucho will take centre stage on The Hayes, in Cardiff city centre.
