Treat groups to a private tour of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, which stands at the end of Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. Guests will explore the Palace’s close associations with some of Scotland’s most well-known historic figures - such as Mary, Queen of Scots and Bonnie Prince Charlie - and learn how today it is used by The Queen when carrying out official engagements in Scotland.

Highland games

A kilted man competes in the shot put event at the Scottish Highland Games watched by a crowd of spectators.

Highland games are as iconically Scottish as bagpipes, kilts and whisky. They’re known for their unique throwing and lifting sports, including the shot put, Haggis hurling, caber toss and hammer throw. Experience this traditional sporting spectacle between May and September at towns and villages across the region, or speak to Convention Edinburgh about hosting your own tournament for groups with a desire to try something different.
