Places to pair with the Cotswolds

The gorgeous, golden city of Bath is on the Cotswolds’ doorstep. This compact little city is crammed to the rafters with historical sites, art, culture and shopping.

You can easily hop further west and over the border to Wales from the Cotswolds. The Brecon Beacons are a magnificent green mountain range that form a National Park, while Pembrokeshire National Park encompasses Wales’ wild and rugged coastline.

Just a nudge further north of the Cotswolds is Shakespeare country, with Stratford-upon-Avon at its heart. Visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace, the house where he met his wife and more in this wonderful town packed with history and tales.

En route to the Cotswolds from London, be sure to stop by Oxford, with its famous dreaming spires. You can visit the historic colleges, churches and halls that make up this fascinating university city.

If you love your British landscapes and hiking, then leapfrog all the way north to Scotland. Find a completely different scenery and culture to the pretty and gentle Cotswolds and tour the wild and rugged Highlands.
