Spring is set to reinvigorate Britain’s accommodation sector, as a range of new and renovated properties prepare to open their doors. From cute cottages and luxury self-catered accommodation to rooms overlooking the world’s oldest golf course, here’s what visitors can look forward to later in 2021.

Courtyard by Marriott Keele Staffordshire – Keele, England

Located in the Keele University Science and Innovation Park, near Stoke-on-Trent, Courtyard by Marriott Keele Staffordshire provides a new space from which to explore the region known as The Potteries. Offering a mix of 150 stylish single, double, family and accessible rooms, complete with elegant shower rooms and workspaces, the hotel has its own Scholars restaurant and a fitness centre. It also offers easy access to a host of nearby attractions, including Alton Towers Theme Park and the Trentham Estate.

 

 

Aloft Birmingham Eastside – Birmingham, England

Found a short walk from Birmingham city centre in the heart of the regenerated Eastside district, Aloft Birmingham Eastside is the latest offering from Aloft Hotels, a Marriott International brand focused on urban design, music and accessible technology. Taking inspiration from the city’s industrial heritage, 193 bedrooms and two suites are complemented by a W XYZ bar, a Tempo! restaurant and 24-hour grab-and-go snack services. Ideal for music fans and tech-savvy travellers, it’s also connected to the Eastside Rooms, an ultra-modern conference and events venue which is set to open in April.

 

Sandibay – Sandwich, Kent

Newly refurbished, Sandibay is a luxury sea view property in Sandwich Bay for up to 12 people. Bookable with high-end travel brand Oliver’s Travels, the accommodation is surrounded by picturesque landscapes and three top quality golf courses. Found just 10 minutes from the market town of Sandwich, it mixes contemporary design with practicality, with six en-suite bedrooms, three of which are accessible on the ground floor. It’s also ideally situated for golf fans given its proximity to the Royal St George’s Golf Club – the host of the 149th Open Championship in 2021 – and for those looking to explore the coastal towns of Broadstairs, Margate and Whitstable. Alongside an open-plan living, kitchen and dining area, the property is packed with technology and includes access to an outdoor terrace and heated swimming pool. Private chefs and babysitters can be arranged, in addition to various local tours, day trips and airport transfers.

Rusacks St Andrews – St Andrews, Scotland

Overlooking the iconic 18th hole of the Old Course at St Andrews, Rusacks St Andrews is one of three new golf-centric hotels coming to Scotland from Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts. Inspired by its surroundings and with sweeping views of the world’s oldest golf course, guests can expect 123 rooms with access to various spa, sauna and steam rooms, as well as a new rooftop bar and restaurant and an authentic Scottish pub.

 

Marine North Berwick – North Berwick, Scotland

Set to open August 2021

Extensive restoration works on the Marine North Berwick Hotel will be completed in the summer, with 84 rooms offering guests a lavish escape in the heart of Scotland’s Golf Coast. Overlooking the 16th hole of the West Links course at North Berwick Golf Club, the hotel’s design will reflect the world of golf, its seaside location, and the region’s other natural features, such as Bass Rock. Facilities include a bar and lounge offering delectable local produce and freshly caught lobster, in addition to spa, pool and fitness facilities. Luxury conference, wedding and events spaces will also be available to hire on a part or exclusive basis.

 

Marine Troon – Troon, Scotland

Set to open in 2022

The Ayrshire Coast will welcome Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts’ third hotel at some stage in 2022. Located close to the fairways of Royal Troon’s Old Course, the hotel was originally built in 1894 and is being reimagined with an interior inspired by the area’s shipping heritage. Guests staying in its 89 rooms will have access to two dining spaces, as well as a host of leisure and fitness facilities including a squash court, indoor pool, steam room and sauna.

 

Ellenboro House – Lake District, England

Set to open April 2021

Located close to Cartmel in the Lake District, Ellenboro House B&B has added a stylish self-catered apartment to its portfolio. Orchard View features one bedroom, complete with a king-size bed and log-burner. It also boasts a stylish living space and a kitchenette and is targeted at couples keen to explore the shores of Lake Windermere or the village of Cartmel, which is home to Michelin-starred dining at L’Enclume. Bookings include a bottle of champagne, as well as a hamper of other goodies including cakes, sour dough and breakfast items.

 

Longleat Accommodation – Longleat Estate

Available from April

Six properties on the Longleat Estate are being transformed into luxury self-catered accommodation, each offering a striking experience in different corners of the estate. The majority of the properties date back to the 18th century, including the East Lodge which formed part of renowned landscape gardener Lancelot Capability Brown’s transformation of the estate in the 1760s. Packed with heritage, East Lodge, Keeper’s House and Keeper’s Cottage will be available from April, with Deer Keeper’s House, Gardener’s Cottage and Prairie Lodge set to follow in the summer. As well as a complimentary hamper and breakfast, each stay includes Longleat Day Tickets to access the safari park and the estate.
