Snowdonia

The upland area of Snowdonia in Wales is famous for its slate, mountainous terrain and epic landscape of glacially sculpted valleys and craggy peaks. It’s home to Wales' tallest and Britain’s second tallest mountain – Snowdon. Take time out to hike, bike or simply enjoy the views.

According to lore, Mount Snowdon was the site where King Arthur is said to have killed a fearsome giant, Rhitta, and the lake of Llyn Llydaw is believed to be the final resting place of Excalibur, Arthur’s sword, after it was thrown in the lake’s waters following Arthur’s death. It’s no surprise, therefore, that the filmmakers behind King Arthur: Legend of the Sword brought cast and crew to shoot on these mythic sites.
