We rode down the world’s longest tunnel slide

Tuesday 02 August 2016

As we approached the ArcelorMittal Orbit – the big twirly red structure in London’s Olympic Park, we hadn’t quite realised just how high it is. We especially hadn't realised quite how long the slide descending from it would be...

Created by Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond, the sculpture is the tallest in the UK and was the centrepiece of the London 2012 Games. You can get sweeping panoramas over the whole of London from the top. And then you can slide all the way down in a new tunnel slide that opened this July.

We tried it out, and boy were we in for a surprise – watch our Go-Pro video to see what happened!
