Experience the beauty and grandeur of Westminster Abbey in the new phone app 'Abbey 3D' for your Android, iPhone or iPad will give you intimate access to the royal church in a way which has never been seen before! Available now to download from iTunes - download Abbey 3D or Android Market - download Abbey 3D Abbey 3D features an internal scaled replica of Westminster Abbey which is the next best thing to visiting for real. It uses the latest laser scanning technology combined with 3D modelling to create a super realistic version of the Abbey, a technique commonly used in film production but rarely applied to mobile devices. The app opens at the Great West Door, the spot where Catherine Middleton will start her walk down the aisle with her father to the High Altar. Flashing up along the way are "hotspots" of information about key areas of the Abbey, such as the Grave of the Unknown Warrior, and their significance on the day of the wedding. Abbey 3D will be available for Android phones via the Android Market and is coming soon to the Apple Store. Proceeds from sales will be split equally between the Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund and Westminster Abbey Foundation, which maintains the Abbey.
