Fish 'n' chips
Eating fish ‘n’ chips by the sea
The only thing better than fish ‘n’ chips fresh from the ‘chippie’ (fish and chip shop) is eating them next to the sea. Aldeburgh, a charming seaside resort in east England, is home to one of Britain’s best fish and chip shops. Join the queue snaking out of the Aldeburgh Fish & Chip Shop and wait your turn for golden-battered fish, still briny from the sea, and chips made from local Suffolk potatoes. Douse them in salt and vinegar and head to the shingle beach backed by pastel-coloured homes, fishermen’s huts and a long, low wall that was seemingly made for perching on to eat hot fish ‘n’ chips in the salty sea air.
