Top sport activities to do in Belfast

  1. Belfast’s Kingspan Stadium is the home of rugby in Northern Ireland and will play host to 2017’s Women’s Rugby World Cup. A visitors’ centre is also in the makings for late 2017.

 

  1. Royal Portrush Golf Club is one of the most challenging links courses in the world and has hosted the Open Championships. It’s located near Coleraine in Northern Ireland, 90 minutes’ drive from Belfast.

 

  1. Tour Game of Thrones set locations by bike in Castle Ward, County Down (under an hour’s drive from Belfast). Pick up your ‘Stark Sack’ so you can protect yourself as you pedal deep into the world of Westeros. Then try your hand at archery in a replica of the Winterfell Archery Range in the very spot where filming took place.

  1. This internationally acclaimed Belfast City Marathon takes over the centre of Belfast in May each year. It attracts no fewer than 3,500 runners, and the day also includes a range of easier events for families.
