Quirky Festivals

Brits loves festivals. Everyone knows world famous Glastonbury, but there are always new, innovative festivals emerging, with some far from the madding crowd. Choose your theme from world music to cheese to fireballs. If you don’t fancy cheese rolling or fireball throwing, set your taste buds ablaze by trying some of Scotland’s finest whiskeys at the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. Britain is a welcoming and open society. Many cities, such as London, Manchester and Brighton hold Gay Pride festivals that attract thousands of people for a vibrant and cheerful street party. For a pluckier experience, take to the capital in late August for some Caribbean fun at Europe’s biggest street festival - Notting Hill Carnival. Cornwall in South West England is home to the domes of the Eden Project. In the summer, it transforms into Eden Sessions for an ensemble of world-class music performances.
