Today's British brewers are busily producing over 2,000 varieties of real ale. Taking a brewery tour is a great way to find out about the process and try some of the delicious brews on offer. Check out the selection of brewery tours below...
Fuller Smith & Turner
Take a tour of Fuller’s Chiswick brewery to see the brewing process and sample brews from crisp blonde beers through to full flavoured traditional ales and rich dark porters.
Bath Ales
Bath Ales brewery between Bath and Bristol is a small independent brewer with a range of ales and lagers.
Black Sheep
The Black Sheep Brewery Visitor Centre is the ideal place for a great day or evening out. You can take a tour of the Brewery, have a meal in the bistro and taste award-winning ales.
Cains
A fascinating insight into Merseyside's rich brewing heritage includes 2 complimentary pints of Cains award winning ale plus a light buffet.
Chiltern
The multi award-winning family-run brewery, Chiltern, is open for tours. You can also try their produce at the Farmers’ Bar at The King’s Head in Aylesbury.
Hall and Woodhouse
Learn about the art of brewing with the opportunity to taste the malt, smell the hops, work the machinery and drink the beer at Hall and Woodhouse.
Hydes
Visit the historic Victorian brewery Hydes and sample ales straight from the factory.
Marston’s
The Marston’s Visitor Centre shows a film about the history of brewing in Burton-on-Trent and you’ll have a chance to sample the produce.
Ringwood
The tour at Ringwood includes a complimentary drink and a tour of the brewery where you can taste the malted barleys, have a sniff of the hops and see the fermentations bubbling away in the Tun Room.
St. Peter’s
The brewery at St. Peter’s is housed in listed former agricultural buildings. Tours include the story of St. Peter's Brewery, the process of brewing and a tutored beer tasting following the trip around the brewery.
Arran
The self-guided walk-through tour will give you the opportunity to see for yourself the way in which Arran Premium Ales are brewed, followed, of course, by the complimentary tasting.
Belhaven
The historic Belhaven Brewery’s fully guided tour ends up with a sampling session in the in-house bar, The Monks Retreat.
Black Isle
Black Isle is a small, independent brewery near Inverness and brews organic beers with interesting flavours. Take a tour then sample heather honey beer, pale ales or dark, rich stouts.
