Celtic Connections 2011

The city really knows how to party especially at this annual gathering which pulls together assorted rootsy Gaelic sounds from all over the world. Celtic Connections 2010′s highlights included The Chieftains, Ry Cooder, The Low Anthem and Vashti Bunyan and this year the line-up is just as strong.
 

Welsh legend, Tom Jones, will be performing tracks from his well-received new album; famed gospel ensemble, The Blind Boys of Alabama, are coming to town and Fairport Convention co-founder Richard Thompson will be playing a mixture of folk classics and new material.Other artists playing include Rosanne Cash, Seth Lakeman, James Yorkston and Fran Healy from Travis.
