Vanaf Heathrow rijdt u in noordwestelijke richting naar de glorieuze middeleeuwse stad Oxford – veruit een van Engeland's meest pittoreske steden. Hoge torenspitsen, magnifieke kerken en historische gebouwen vullen het straatbeeld. Oxford is de vestigingsplaats van een van de meest beroemde universiteiten ter wereld en biedt u een ruime keus aan dingen die u kunt zien en doen.

Woodstock

Rij verder richting Stratford-upon-Avon en als u de tijd heeft, stop dan zeker even bij Blenheim Palace nabij Woodstock. Dit is de geboorteplaats van Winston Churchill en hier vindt u ook een fascinerende tentoonstelling over zijn leven. Het huis is gevuld met waardevolle kunststukken en de tuinen en het park rondom het huis zijn ontworpen door Capability Brown.

De volgende halte is Stratford, een prachtig stadje aan de rivier de Avon met pittoreske wandelingen en een hartelijk welkom. Hier is Shakespeare geboren en Harvard House, zijn geboorteplaats, is een ware traktatie voor degenen die in drama geïntereseerd zijn.
