Day 1 – Sunday, 19 April 2020

Arrive in Wales and visit Gladstone’s Library – enjoy the inspection of the venue and morning coffee here.

 

Arrival at The OpTIC Technology Centre in St Asaph for an inspection.

 

The OpTIC Technology Centre is home to Glyndwr Innovations, a leading provider of innovative product development engineering and technology consulting. A hub for high-level opto-electronics technology and scientific innovation, the site comprises research and design, business incubation units and conferencing. The venue can host up to 120 people in the conference room whilst the additional 6 rooms including boardroom can host between 2 – 35 people.

 

Lunch and show around at Venue Cymru.

Time in Llandudno.

 

Take in the magnificent views of this blue flag seafront, gracefully framed by two headlands. The Victorians and Edwardians loved Llandudno – they called it the Queen of the Welsh Resorts and graced it with some of the most elegant seaside architecture in Britain.

 

Dinner and drinks at the Erskine Arms.

 

Check in to your first accommodation of the trip. The Erskine Arms is a traditional Georgian coaching inn located within the medieval walls of Conwy a stone’s throw from King Edward I’s imposing medieval fortress, Conwy Castle. You will enjoy the cosy atmosphere in this relaxed setting as you have a welcome dinner tonight.

Day 2 – Monday, 20 April 2020

Day 3 – Tuesday, 21 April 2020

Visit to Nant Gwrtheyrn.

 

Your first stop this morning will be Nant Gwrtheyrn or “the Nant” as it is often called, now home to the National Welsh Language and Heritage Centre. Nant Gwrtheyrn is a magical place located in a former quarrying village on the northern coast of the Llŷn Peninsula in north Wales. Here you will have an introduction to the language and enjoy a cup of tea and welshcakes.

 

Visit to Portmeirion and lunch.

 

You will then journey to the unique coastal resort of Portmeirion, based on a Mediterranean village. It was opened in 1926, but the gardens are much older than this. In fact, some conifers, Wellingtonia and Himalayan Firs from the mid-1800s are still here. Enjoy the fantastic gardens, learn about its history and the quaint cafés and shops. For any fans of the series ‘The Prisoner’ from the 1960’s, this is where the show was filmed! You will have lunch here.

 

Visit and activities at Zipworld.

 

This afternoon will be scaling the heights of Zip World, Titan. Sit back and zip away as you and colleagues fly down Europe’s largest zipping zone!

 

Your final stop today is Palé Hall, which is an AA Five Red Star, Relais & Chateaux destination luxury country house hotel. You will indulge in tranquillity of the setting, sumptuous décor and exceptional food as you enjoy a five-course taster dinner with drinks tonight.

Day 4 – Wednesday, 22 April 2020

This morning, you will depart for Celtic Manor.
