Visit Manchester and you can’t miss Castlefield, a conservation area in the south-west side of its city centre ❤️. It’s home to the Roman Fort of Mamucium, built in 79 AD and from which the city derived its name. It was also the industrial heart of the city, with a network of canals, old mills, warehouses and bridges, which have, since then, been joined by modern-day bars and restaurants. You’ll also find Castlefield Bowl nearby, an outdoor music and entertainment venue which hosts the annual “Sounds of the City”- a series of concerts featuring big names in music. While the show didn’t take place last year, it’s back for 2021 🎶!
