Craving a long overdue cultural fix or some new experiences to add to the memory bank? UK hotels are coming up with an array of cultural offerings to complement your stay. From art exhibitions and art themed garden tours, to comedy shows, workshops, talks and culinary adventures – check out some of the newest offerings with more than a dash of culture. 

London 

The Megaro Hotel 
The bright geometric artwork on the exterior of The Megaro hints at what to expect inside. Each distinctively designed room has its own theme, ranging from the silver and glittery Space Room to the Britannia Rose rooms – decorated in sultry shades of red wine. Round out your stay with a nightcap and a live comedy show in The Megaro Bar. 

The Exhibitionist Hotel
Set in a row of handsomely restored 18th-century townhouses, this is ultra-hip 5-star boutique hotel has a very elegant and luxurious design, just filed with an Aladdin’s cave of striking contemporary art pieces. The Exhibitionist Hotel is like a communal art gallery of sorts, filled with a mixture of rotating installations as well as set pieces of art (including a gigantic marble bull guarding door and an imposing mannequin/lamp residing in the bar).

The Broadwick Soho
Spring 2022 will see the hotly anticipated opening of the first London hotel designed by Swedish interior architect, Martin Brudnizki (Annabel’s, The Wolseley). Inspired by the history, glamour and grit of Soho, Brudnizki’s inimitable magic will be woven throughout the hotel. With a rooftop bar and wraparound terrace, plus a sumptuous Italian restaurant run in partnership with culinary powerhouses Jamie Poulton and Ed Baines (of Randall and Aubin fame), this luxury boutique development promises to be one of Soho’s hottest spots.

Native, Manchester 
The Native aparthotel in the Grade II-listed Ducie Street Warehouse includes CULTUREPLEX on the ground floor, a social and cultural space with a lounge, restaurant, bar, all-day deli counter, takeaway shop, cinema, outdoor terrace, fitness classes and workshops, with visiting artworks on display. 

Kimpton Clocktower, Manchester 
Victorian architecture and fresh approach to hospitality, Kimpton Clocktower Hotel’s Refuge is the main bar and dining area which doubles as an exhibition space for collaborations with the British Culture Archives.

Lucknam Park, Bath 
A stunning collection of contemporary sculptures by some of the finest British sculptors is displayed around the hotel, estate and gardens in partnership with ‘Muse. The Sculpture Company’. All works shown in the ever changing presentation are in small world wide editions and available for visitors to own. Regular artists shown include the award winning Hamish Mackie, Phillip Jackson CVO and the internationally acclaimed Maurice Blik.

The Libertines’ Albion Rooms, Kent 
Owned and developed by rock band The Libertines, The Albion Rooms is set in a five-storey Victorian building overlooking Margate’s bandstand and the sea. A recording studio, for use by the band and other artists, is already open, as is The Waste Land bar, named as a reference to the TS Eliot poem, which has Margate connections. The Waste Land at Albion Rooms will host poetry and live music performances, as well as art exhibitions.

The Newt, Somerset 
The working estate of The Newt is home to acres of splendid gardens, woodland, farmland and cider orchards. Hotel visitors can enjoy the world’s most famous gardens in virtual reality pods, admire the abundant fruit trees of Babylonstoren or peek into the fascinating life of bees and their hives at the Beezantium. 

The Fife Arms, Scottish Highlands 
The Fife Arms is situated at the heart of the village Braemar, surrounded by local artisan businesses and the beautiful Caimgorms National Park near Edinburgh.  Art is central to The Fife Arms experience as co-founders of the acclaimed global gallery, Hauser & Wirth, Iwan and Manuela Wirth have been passionately dedicated for many years to modern and contemporary art. More than 14,000 pieces including both antiques and specially commissioned artworks have been thoughtfully integrated into every room, corridor, and corner.
