VisitBritain is delighted to announce the appointment of Peta Evans as Trade Engagement Executive for VisitBritain Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). With almost a decade of experience working in the travel industry across both Australia and the U.K., Evans will leverage her extensive knowledge to implement VisitBritain’s trade engagement and partnerships strategy across the ANZ market.

With past experience as both a travel agent for STA Travel and business development manager at Sundowners Overland, Evans joins the Sydney-based team with a unique skillset and first-hand understanding of the varying needs and demands placed on agents, as well as retail and wholesale businesses. In her role, she will focus on supporting and educating travel trade and distribution partners across Australia and New Zealand with a roster of new and engaging tailored training platforms, as well as implement creative selling tools for wholesale and retail consultants.

“There could not be a better time to welcome Peta to our VisitBritain team” said Maria Sykes, VisitBritain’s Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand. “2022 has been a significant year of recovery for inbound travel from Australia and New Zealand to Britain, and in 2023 we expect this demand to continue with several world-class events focussing the global spotlight on Britain, including the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III in May. Recent research* we conducted reconfirms that agents remain a key source of trust and expert knowledge for Australians when planning trips to Britain and we’re thrilled to have Peta on board to further support the industry and ensure agents are well positioned to convert this increasing demand into bookings.”
