5 best SPECTRE locations in Britain for selfies

Monday 26 October 2015

Many key scenes for the 24th Bond film SPECTRE were shot in British locations. Check them out below and discover the best spots for capturing that essential #selfie!

1. Westminster Bridge and Big Ben

It’s the view that even locals never tire of. There’s just nothing quite like the sight of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament reflected in the River Thames. You’ll get the best snaps from Westminster Bridge, and on the south side of the river – take the steps down to the riverside walkway here.

2. MI6

Carry on upstream along the south side of the river and you’ll reach Vauxhall, the not-so-secret location of Britain’s Secret Intelligence Service headquarters, MI6. Which of course is a central location in Bond films. Cross Vauxhall Bridge beside it to reach the north side of the river for the best shot.

3. London’s City Hall

The striking modern architecture of City Hall contrasts with that of Tower Bridge just beyond. It houses the offices of the Mayor of London, and some parts of it are open to visitors. Get your selfie from the riverside path, then you can get Tower Bridge in the background too.

4. Camden Lock

Colourful, vibrant Camden. You can feel the buzz of this North London neighbourhood as soon as you emerge from the Tube station. Head along Camden High Street, lined with quirky shops, towards Camden Lock, where colourful boats amble along the Regent’s Canal. Pause on the bridge for a shot along the canal with the Camden Lock Market bustling on the right-hand side.

5. Blenheim Palace

Not far out of London, near Oxford, lies Blenheim Palace – the only country house in Britain not owned by the royals to be called a palace. Stand at the entrance to the Great Court where the monumental architecture of the palace wraps around on 3 sides for the most epic selfie shot.
