Your holiday, starring England

Why we love England

Few locations inspire quite like England. From legendary landmarks and bustling cities, to rolling emerald hills and dramatic coasts – this is an unmissable nation of contrasts. But beyond its beautiful landscapes and rich heritage, there’s bucketloads of dynamism, creativity and culture to discover.

For a blockbuster break, look no further than England’s screen stars. Step back in time in Peaky Blinders’ Birmingham and the North of England, be charmed by Bridgerton’s Bath, or fall in love with Bridget Jones’ London. Whether it’s family-friendly fun at The Paddington Bear Experience, or broomsticks and butterbeer at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour – this really is where the movie magic happens.

England’s hidden gem in the north

England’s most northern county, Northumberland has its own character and traditions, and visitors who make the trip will be rewarded with unique experiences. Use Newcastle as your transport hub to explore the region, easily reached with a three-hour train ride from London.

If off-the-beaten-track travel is your thing, you can’t get further than Northumberland’s islands. The Farne Islands are a wildlife haven, home to grey seals, puffins and more. Get a close encounter on a Serenity Farne Island Boat Tour. Or, discover the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, the mysterious tidal island that becomes inaccessible at high tide. Explore its historic sites and surprising number of pubs and cafes.

Did you know that Northumberland is a film star? You might recognise the magnificent Alnwick Castle from Harry Potter, and you can even take a broomstick flying lesson in the very spot Harry did. It’s packed with history and treasure from the muggle world, too.
