An unmissable Scottish spot for any keen kayaker, Glen Etive is a haven in the Highlands. Known as one of the most challenging white-water routes, adventurers can navigate their way round rushing pools and dramatic waterfalls, while TV and film fanatics will spot the landscape from James Bond’s Skyfall, Braveheart and more. Nearby Glencoe was the setting for Skyfall Lodge, 007’s ancestral home, in the spy’s 23rd screen outing.

Discover Eilean Donan Castle

Immerse yourself in Scottish heritage. Eilean Donan sits in an incredible setting: the castle’s stone turrets are surrounded by rugged peaks, and it sits at the meeting point of three west coast lochs – Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh. Explore centuries of history from the actual cannonballs fired in the 1700s to its exquisite Chippendale furniture. The castle also offers accommodation in its grounds, with self-catering apartments and a cottage overlooking the fortress. Bond fans – you'll recognise this picturesque spot from The World Is Not Enough.  

North Wales  
Get your mountain highs in slate-studded Snowdonia (Eryri), Wales’ largest National Park. This is the territory of cinema’s most powerful action heroes – including three films featuring 007 – with sweeping valleys and plunging waterfalls bringing the drama. Across the Menai Strait, the sea-breezy island of Anglesey has welcomed Greek gods, royal dynasties and Terry Pratchett’s wizards to its shores – all in the name of cinema, naturally.

Fishing trips are also available, while the Crannog Centre features traditional ‘roundhouses’ that were built on the lake thousands of years ago. Blending history and nature, this is a fantastic day out.

Walk The Beacons Way

For one of Britain’s best walks, trek the Beacons Way over hills and hollows in the Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog). This 99-mile (159km) route takes around eight days, or you can choose smaller sections.

Our action and adventure itinerary ends on a high – 3,000 feet high, that is! Strap in for a once-in-a-lifetime wingwalking experience over the Cotswold countryside. Or channel your inner Daniel Craig and take the controls at a supercar driving experience on an iconic British track in Oxfordshire, with some time for shopping at nearby Bicester Village, too. Try off-roading in nearby Herefordshire and test your balance with some stand-up paddleboarding in a rural oasis.
