There’s a new Three Michelin star restaurant in the nation’s capital, The Ledbury, with others retaining three stars, including Core by British female chef Clare Smyth to Hélène Darroze at The Connaught. New Michelin star restaurants in Great Britain 2024

There are 21 new Michelin star winners across England, Scotland and Wales this year, with London proudly boasting 15 restaurants within that mix. Of these, 15 have been awarded One Michelin star, five are proud owners of new Two Michelin stars, and there’s only one new Three Michelin star restaurant.

Below, are a few of the newly awarded restaurants to take your taste buds on a gastronomic journey. For a full list of all current Michelin star restaurants see the Michelin Guide.

A Michelin star adventure of Great Britain

The Ledbury, London (3 Michelin stars)

Located in Notting Hill and overseen by Head Chef Tom Spenceley, chef Brett Graham’s The Ledbury gained its first two Michelin stars in 2010 with its creative cuisine, and stand out produce.

Brooklands by Claude Bosi, London (2 Michelin stars)

Playing homage to British aviation, Brooklands by Claude Bosi is the rooftop restaurant at the Peninsula, London. Blending the best British ingredients with traditional French techniques, enjoy a contemporary menu combining classic fine dining.

Gymkhana, London (2 Michelin stars)

Serving predominently Northern Indian style cusine inspired by the elite clubs of India, Gymkhana is an adventure for the senses. With a distinctive atmosphere across two floors, the restaurant has a bar, plus private dining vaults.

Opheem, Birmingham (2 Michelin stars)

Featuring fine dining by Birmingham born and raised chef Aktar Islam, Opheem pushes the boundaries of Indian flavours fusing international traditional with modern techniques. Opheem is Birmingham’s first ever Two Michelin star restaurant.

The Glenturret Lalique, Crieff (2 michelin stars)

Balancing familiar Scottish fare with global fine dining influences, chef Mark Donald at The Glenturret Lalique offers a stylish and welcome retreat. Nestled within the The Glenturret Distillery, there’s a whisky tasting selection on offer, too.

 

Trivet, London (2 Michelin stars)

Watch the chefs at work at Trivet’s open kitchen before indulging in an informal yet high-end dining experience. Chef Jonny Lake and master sommelier Isa Bal have crafted the food and beverage offerings from international diversity and culinary history.

 

Crocadon, Cornwall (1 Michelin star and 1 Green Michelin Star)

Creating a seamless approach from field to fork, Crocadon is a self-proclaimed farm with a restaurant at its heart. Chef-owner Dan Cox focuses on dishes created with fresh produce grown on the 120-acre farm, served within the restored barn restaurant.

 

Lake Road Kitchen, Ambleside (1 Michelin star)

Located just north of Lake Windermere in the heart of the Lake District, Lake Road Kitchen serves up complex and creative dishes using locally sourced ingredients. Look out for Japanese influences on the menu weaving in an international touch. 

 

mýse, Hovingham (1 Michelin star)

Found within the National Landscape of the North Yorkshire Moors, mýse embodies a produce-driven range of dishes, dictated by what’s on offer from local suppliers each day.  The restaurant is from Yorkshire-born head chef Joshua Overington and his sommelier wife Victoria.

Aulis London

Limited to only eight sittings, every seat is at the Chef’s Table when you visit the Soho-based Aulis London. This intentional invitation by Simon Rogan enables an exclusive look behind the scenes of his signature farm-to-fork ethos. Interact with each dish on the multiple-course tasting menu as it is prepared before you, and indulge in the carefully selected wine pairings.

Dinner

If you want a Chef’s table that takes it one step further, the world-renowned Heston Blumenthal’s Dinner at London’s famous Mandarin Oriental is a self-proclaimed ‘gastronomic time travelling experience’. We have come to expect nothing less than theatre and phenomenal food from Heston, and his Chef’s Table is exactly that. Giving you an intimate insight into the science and art that goes into one of his one-of-a-kind culinary performances.

Hosted in the TRUEfoods research and development kitchen, chefsTABLE is a true, up close and personal culinary experience. The chefs take on all the responsibilities from cooking and cleaning to pouring the wine, so you can get as immersed as you like. Yorkshire’s TRUEfoods is a well-known name in the British restaurant scene for their no-nonsense, all-natural, power-packing stocks and sauces – so you can expect absolute freshness and big flavours.

Hélène Darroze at the Connaught

Seated on a feminine pink marble table overlooking the pass, the Hélène Darroze at the Connaught Chef’s Table is a one-of-a-kind experience. Not only will you get a three Michelin-starred quality, seven-course bespoke menu. It will be personally presented, with chefs answering questions and talking you through the seasonal ingredients delivered by farmers, producers and growers carefully picked out by Hélène herself.

City Social

For views that extend beyond the kitchen, City Social on the 24th floor of Tower 42 in the heart of London is for you. With a private dining room that overlooks both the restaurant’s kitchen and the stunning city of London, this Michelin-starred restaurant by Jason Atherton takes fine dining to new heights with a modern British menu.

Ynyshir

Gareth Ward’s two Michelin starred Ynyshir, is one of Wales’ most celebrated and unusual restaurants. All the seats are at their ‘Chef’s Table’ due to its open-plan and no waiting staff. The chefs bring the dishes directly to your table, talking you through their compositions and local Welsh produce. They also only do tasting menus, but these are a unique experience in themselves, with up to 20 courses of bitesize flavour explosions in each one.
