Introduction
The critics have spoken and it’s official: Britain is the big winner this awards season. We’d like to thank our incredible destinations for making this possible – from the iconic chalk cliffs of Sussex, to Scotland’s cultural capital, Edinburgh. But it wasn’t just the big-hitters bringing home the prizes at the Oscars, BAFTAs, Golden Globes and Emmy Awards this year. Also stepping into the limelight were up and coming stars, including a field filled with millions of tulips and a towering Welsh aqueduct. With winners in every nation, Britain is the real star of the show in 2025.

Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl
Winning big at this year’s BAFTAs were our homegrown claymation duo, Wallace and Gromit. Created in Bristol’s Aardman Studios, you’ll find tributes to the pair around the city, including themed escape room A Grand Way Out and new city sculpture trail Gromit Unleashed 3 coming in June 2025. Their home county of Lancashire is brought to life in animation in their latest cinematic outing – explore the town of Preston, and make Wallace proud by eating your fill of crumbly Lancashire cheese. The tense final moments of Vengeance Most Fowl were inspired by Wales’ Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, where you can kayak 38 metres in the air, if you dare.

Wicked: Part One
Pop culture phenomenon Wicked was the talk of the 2025 awards season, but did you know that the Hollywood blockbuster was filmed in Britain? The river that Glinda sails down on her way to Shiz University is actually Seven Sisters Country Park – we’d recognise those white chalk cliffs anywhere. Much of Munchkinland was created in Buckinghamshire, with the Yellow Brick Road passing through Ivinghoe. While the fairytale town seen in the film is no longer there, the charming village and surrounding Chiltern Hills area are a big draw for hikers and wildlife watchers. And that spectacular tulip field? No, it isn’t CGI, it’s a real-life tulip field in Norfolk – plan your visit ahead, as it’s only open for two weeks every summer.

Baby Reindeer
A star of the television awards this year was Baby Reindeer, filmed in locations across London and Edinburgh. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August is one of the biggest performing arts festivals in the world, with thousands of eclectic acts taking over the city for the entire month. It’s here that Donny performs his disastrous one man show. You can follow in Donny’s footsteps in London too, with a stroll down the Regent’s Canal, before heading over to the Army and Navy pub in Stoke Newington, where his comedy shows were filmed.
