More rumoured filming locations for Mission: Impossible 8 include Buttermere Valley in the Lake District and the Peak District’s Middleton Mine. Stay tuned.

Liverpool Street Station, London

In the first Mission: Impossible outing, Hunt’s Impossible Mission Force take refuge in a safe house above Liverpool Street Underground Station, and the main man even goes into the station to make a phone call and visit a cafe. You don’t need to head far from the station to find adventure; Old Spitalfields Market is a one-stop shopping and dining destination just five minutes’ walk away. Italian food lovers will be in heaven at nearby Eataly, with its on-site delicatessens, restaurants and cooking classes.

The Anchor, London

At the end of Mission: Impossible, Hunt enjoys a well-earned pint at this traditional British pub on the South Bank. The Anchor is the oldest surviving watering hole of its type in Bankside, rebuilt in 1676 after the Great Fire of London, but its fare has moved with the times; today it offers a selection of British pub classics with a contemporary twist. Will you tuck into the steak and ale pie or the fish and chips?

Brompton Cemetery, London

Ilsa (Rebecca Ferguson) meets with antagonist Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) at the fittingly atmospheric Brompton Cemetery in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. A familiar big-screen sight, the graveyard has also appeared in James Bond film Goldeneye and spoof 007 outing Johnny English

Blackfriars Bridge, London

When crossing the Thames in the gripping chase in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Hunt doesn’t choose a normal route instead, he runs across the top of Blackfriars Bridge. The City of London’s iconic skyline frames his route look out for the capital’s tallest building, The Shard

Trafalgar Square, London

World-class art galleries, striking statues and plenty of fountains, Trafalgar Square has it all. You might even spot a certain secret agent here, as behind-the-scenes shots from the filming of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning suggest

Stoney Middleton, Peak District

Stoney Middleton is home to a number of listed buildings, including a church with an unusual octagonal nave. A hair-raising train crash in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One takes place in nearby Darlton limestone quarry. Filming for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning took place at Middleton Mine, in the southern Peak District.
