As darkness falls on Longleat House, look out for the striking lanterns that light up the grounds. From silk elephants to porcelain giraffes, these giant lanterns bring to life the history of Longleat as one of the best places to spot exotic creatures from around the world.

Expect an extra special show with Europe’s largest display of Chinese lanterns and brand new Beatrix Potter scenes.

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew are made even more magical in the winter months by the impressive illuminations that transform its botanical landscape. Taking inspiration from the plants, trees and flowers of Kew, the mile-long trail is a truly sensory experience – with winter scented gardens, sparkling light tunnels and impressive laser beams across the water that provide an explosion of colour.

This year the event runs 22 November - 1 January 2018.

The Magical Lantern Festival is touring the UK this year from the end of November until January 2018, stopping off at Roundhay Park in Yorkshire, Birmingham Botanical Garden and Chiswick House Gardens in London.
