A foraging and cookery school, HUNTER GATHER COOK teaches you how to survive in the wild through Seasonal Day Courses run out of their East Sussex mixed-woodland farm in Lewes. Showing you how to forage, prepare wild meat, select wood and start a fire. If you are already quite a seasoned survivalist, why not try one of their specialists days, from Deer in a Day or Mushrooms to Truffle & Game.
Coastal Foraging
Covering the spectacular south-west coast of Wales from Pembrey to St Davids, Craig Evans is sharing his knowledge of coastal foraging through his Classic Course. Explore the beach and shore on a rockpool safari, seek out clams and cockles on the mud flats and study the sand dunes. After a few hours of foraging for seafood and sea vegetables, Craig will cook up your finds so you can appreciate the fruits of your labours.
Tasting Scotland Gourmet Journeys & Events
An hour’s drive north of Inverness, through the striking Scottish Highlands and past numerous lochs you’ll reach the former fishing village of Badachro. This tranquil and unspoilt location is the set for Tasting Scotland’s Seafood – Catch It, Cook It, Eat It. Accompanied by your expert fisherman, spend the morning sailing on a trawler boat pulling creels of crab, lobster and langoustine. Before a shellfish cookery demonstration and lunch once you are back on shore.
