Rivals series two filming locations and houses

Expect big hair and even bigger shoulder pads: Rivals series two returns to our screens in May 2026. The racy (mis)adventures of Rupert Campbell-Black and co. are set against some rather impressive British backdrops – and here’s where you can join in the fun.

Rumoured returning stars for Rivals series two include filming locations such as Corsham and Tetbury. But expect to see some new faces like the Beaufort Polo Club near Tetbury, where crews were spotted filming. There’s a polo school if you fancy a crack at this fast-and-furious sport yourself, or if you’re happier watching from the sidelines, keep an eye on its games calendar.

Another reported new filming location for Rivals series two is Berkeley Castle, home to the same family since the 12th century. When you explore this historic property and its gardens, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a storybook – so it’s no surprise that it’s appeared in The Other Boleyn Girl, Johnny English Strikes Again and Wolf Hall, too.

And it wouldn’t be Rivals without Bristol, so expect the city to play a leading role in series two after star Aidan Turner was spotted in Clifton. Watch this space…

Rivals TV show FAQs

  • Rivals is set in the fictional English county of Rutshire. The series is based on the Rutshire Chronicles books by the late Dame Jilly Cooper, who lived in the Cotswolds and based Rutshire on this real-life region.

  • Tetbury is known for its royal connections: Highgrove House is the home of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. During the Middle Ages, the town was an important market for wool and yarn, and this heritage is reflected in its yearly Tetbury Woolsack Races. As the second-largest town in the Cotswolds, Tetbury also has a great independent shopping scene.

  • Yes, The Priory house in Rivals and Trenwith House in Poldark both use Chavenage House as their filming location. This manor house near Tetbury in Gloucestershire can also be seen on screen in TV show Wolf Hall and film Emma

  • Somerset’s Ammerdown House was used as a filming location for Rupert Campbell-Black’s house in Rivals. The house is currently not open to the public, but in its grounds you’ll find the Ammerdown Retreat Centre.
